I think he assumes that if you don't blame a politician, specifically Snyder (of whom I don't have any particular fondness) and the Republicans (those that have NOT been in charge of Flint or Detroit for many years and, yes, the emergency manager was a Democrat for those keeping score) then you are terribly naïve and certainly cannot handle the "truth" as presented by a certain faction that seems to have a corner on such truth.
