Stand together for what? Flint already switched their water back to Detroit's a couple of months ago. Now it's a matter of getting the pipes completely cleaned of the lead which is still taking some time. Flint could accelerate the process, but they don't have the money to do so. Meanwhile, the residents of Flint will have to avoid drinking tap and hopefully no more folks are sickened by doing so.

The only reason it's still a news story is for political twisting.

Flint residents were drinking the corrosive river water and the slurry it created from the distribution pipes for over A YEAR. Toxic levels of lead amongst other things are showing up in blood tests of the residents. The Snyder Administration ignored repeated requests and warnings about this, to the point of issuing statements that there was no problem. Only pressed to wall with the realization that the residents of Flint had been poisoned by an unreviewed decision to save money rendered by the Snyder-appointed Emergency Manager was the water system switched back. Meantime, remnants of the corrosive activity continue to wash through the water system to the homes of Flint residents with little to be done to completely clean up the mess created. It's doubtful that all Flint residents have the money to trot off and buy bottled water for their daily needs until this Gov/EFM created problem is finally neutralized, whenever that might be. The long term effects on the residents, and especially more susceptible youth, from drinking this poison remain to be determined. It's thought that Beethoven went deaf from bathing at "health spas" whose waters were contaminated with lead, but it's doubtful a lot of musical geniuses will be coming out of Flint anyway. Probably no geniuses at all due to this action by the Snyder Administration through its Emergency Manager. But, hey, the people of Flint are just a bunch of losers anyway, right? They're too stupid to get out of Flint while the getting was good and they're probably all black anyway, so what the hell ....

I do believe they were just using some stereotypical language. I don't think it was meant to take literally.

Yes, the language of sarcasm. I agree, but sarcasm, haha.

As someone who has family that lives in the metro area, I think it's disgusting that the residents have been left to dry. They've been complaining and letting the city know the water was bad since the initial switch over last year. It's really a sad situation.

How are they going to possibly make this right? If they can't afford to fix their pipes they sure can't afford the lawsuits on behalf of all the people who got poisoned. Permanent brain damage is no joke.

Default Tragic

This is really heartbreaking for all of the affected children, in particular. Tragic.

Default Cher wants Snyder before firing squad for water crisis

Superstar singer and actress Cher called for jail and a firing squad for Gov. Rick Snyder, in response to the Flint water crisis.

One tweet Tuesday night called Snyder a murderer. Another, about a half hour later, decried greedy politicians, mentioned Snyder and ended with "#FIRINGSQUADWORKSFORME."
