Call the Better Business Bureau and the State Attorney General's office. This is inexcusable.

Default interview

These people called me the other day telling me that they got my resume off line. I am currently an unemployed auto worker and am looking for work. I was convinced to take an interview tomorrow (Saturday)??, and after reading your remarks I am having serius doubts, in fact, I think I am going to cancel.
Good luck to you

The gist of what they do is go door to door "informing" people about deregulation of natural gas etc. At this point, he has been working for them for about a month and they still have yet to pay him. We can't go on like this but I fear that we are stuck. They continue to maintain the position that they will pay him when they get everything "set up." I was wondering if anyone out there had a common experience with this company and if so what did you do? We are from Washington and I'm not entirely sure what the laws are around here about this sort of thing. Any info would be great thanks!

Location does not attribute honesty to any operation.

This kinda looks like Enron. A wholesale distributor! Check out the website happytwenty.Universal Gas&Electric>Welcome This isn't competition, this is "middle man" opportunity! Your husband should run away as fast as he can.

Default The unjust truth.

Universal gas hires people the same way that they get people to sign up for there service, with half truths and misdirection. I went to an "interview" w/ 30 or so other "applicants" and the jist of this snowballing event was that the position does not involve sales at all. What you supposedly do is like meter reading they say, except instead of reading a meter, you are talking w/ someone who already has a gas supplier, your just making sure that they are happy with their choice. Of couse if you don't sell them on signing up w/ Universal, you don't get paid. (but "it's not a sales position"....yeah right) Also, they don't tell you exactly what you will be doing, where, for how long, and for how much pay before they say... "congratulations, your hired". Unfortunately at this point, some sad souls will have put there notice in with their current employer or given up some other means of income to "start right away". They tell their ptential customers that they only pay (for example) $1.04/ month. One dollar and four cents per month, how could you go wrong. Well, I'll tell you. Most people are not as acclimated w/ their consumers bill as they should be, myself included. Because what they don't tell you is that they charge , for example, $1.04 times X, which is a specified unit which adds up quickly. So, when they say that you "only" pay such and such per month, this is not the whole truth, they should be showing you an example visa vi your current billing statement. Oh and I forgot to mention, they wanted me to work 66 hours per week, 10AM to 9PM Mon.- Sat.. Goodbye wife, son, friends, life....welcome to the new America, where spending your life making the uber rich uber richer does not work so well, as most can now see. We should take a few tips from the U.K., they seem happy there.
P.S. I don't know why your not getting paid, they claim to be growing exponentially. The fact that gas bills are outrageous and they are doing really well tells you right off that theres something rotten in Denmark, no offense to Denmark. Join the lawsuit, I did!
