No problem, I am envious. The pass allows you to drive and/or park anywhere within the park boundaries - probably even motor the Pierce-Stocking scenic drive. If you do, make the last couple of overlook stopoffs.

If you are coming from the south, I suggest getting a pass, map, or asking the friendly rangers at the Platte River campground office. It is on the right as you enter Lake Michigan Road from M-22. After getting a map you can drive out to the park at road's end and check it out. Halfway out, you may find the fish weir interesting.
Google Maps

If you're coming from the east, the main visitor's center is right there at M-22 & M-72 in Empire.
Just one more favorite place - little quiet area, a lake platform/dock, canoe launch, also a trailhead. No beach though.

We are actually coming from Traverse City for this. We are going to get up and drive up 22 to Suttons BAy then across to Leland to see Fishtown and South Beach maybe to look for leland bluestones and everything. Then continue on 22 down to Glen Arbor for Cherry Republic. I JUST now realized while mapping it out that Glen Arbor actually comes after some of the beach stops you mentioned...so I was looking at them in reverse from the way you shared them. So we will probably hit a couple of those spots on the beach, then Glen Arbor, We then may or may not do the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive.. haven't decided.. But we will travel back down to 72 and back across to Traverse City.

this is basically one day of our trip...

trying to figure out right now how to organize this so that we eat lunch at the Cherry Republic place! We will probably head out pretty early in the morning.

probably shouldn't have sent that so soon.. but we will probably eat lunch at glen arbor, then continue to sleeping bear dunes..and maybe some more beach time.

I may have confused you since I was asking about our trip from home to traverse city. We decided to go a little out of our way and drive up the shore line. So we are going to stop at a couple of places along the way.. farther south. But we are just going to head straight to Traverse City when we get there.

Coming from the north, I see a listed place for park passes (and hopefully info) is the "Leland boat dock" wherever that is (township marina next to Fishtown?).
I seem to recall a chamber of commerce or visitor center on Main Street (possibly they moved it - downtown is not all that big) which should be able to advise you.
FYI once in Glen Arbor from the north you are already past one of the previously recommended spots I), Bohemian Road to Lake Mich Road east end. You might check it out on your way past. For just motoring around you won't need a pass unless you see signs to the contrary.

Update: this "Leland township harbor" next to Fishtown looks like newer construction. Got a hunch about that - may be a visitor center. I see a boat launch there also.

Oh okay, thank you! But we probably will need the pass? iTunes we could even stop and get one on the first trip up since they last 7 days?

It looks to me like a few are between Leon's and Glenn arbor.

I got a tip for another secluded beach off of Oneida which is off of a lake road or something?

Port Oneida? That is on Pyramid Point, and beaches on both east and west sides were previously mentioned. This is Pyramid Point.
Google Maps
Notice the east side road along Good Harbor Bay is the "Lake Mich Road" mentioned, and the eastern deadend was mentioned as a favored spot. The northwest Good Harbor Drive is also a deadend, and you must climb down a bluff to get to the beach (it is also a trailhead).
The west side access is the "undeveloped Sunset Shores Drive with secluded beach" (seen lower left), also mentioned. You can park almost anywhere along those roads (leaving your pass on the dashboard).
There may be an access point just to the north at Lane Road - easy to find out. http://maps.google.com/?ll=44.947032...04128&t=h&z=19
Not to complicate things, but since you're there, the end of Miller Road has a scenic abandoned farm and it is also a trailhead, possibly to the beach (but it is on a wooded bluff - might be a stairway). http://maps.google.com/?ll=44.940759...08256&t=h&z=18
There is no access road on the northern portion due to Basch Road being high on a bluff. There is a hiking trail to a Lake Mich overlook here.
Either side, you must park roadside and toilets are only at foot of Bohemian Road and at the eastern Lake Mich Road deadend.
As mentioned, all this info is as of 3 years ago.

You might let us know about the highlights of your trip. Hope the weather holds up and you have a great time. Four days is really not enough.
