You can still take a gun into a school illegally.

You can also illegally create a child slave ring. Point?

Let me guess, the answer to fewer gun deaths is more guns and more ammo. I think we should allow grenades in school. Dynamite even. IED's. The answer is always " more of everything." <sarc>

And you have a solution, right?

I think the solution is not more guns, but rather not letting the nut jobs know whether there are more guns. When you advertise that "No One Here Has A Gun", it is not much of a deterrent to a nut job.

Consider this: when was the last time you heard about a mass murder at a gun show, shooting range, gun store, etc.?

Could just put metal detectors at the door like how they do in Detroit (where arming everyone with a gun has shown its results).

How about the mass shooting at Ft Hood military base? 12 killed, over 30 injured?

Yes, go back to the assault weapons ban that we had for about a decade, institute a buy-back program for assault weapons, stop the sales of high capacity cartridges, add metal detectors to all public schools with an armed guard on duty at all times, increase funding for mental health services.

The answer to being the #1 gun death country in the world is not to add more guns and allow people to carry them into schools hidden in their jackets. Am I missing something?

Actually, maybe the answer is to arm the kids in school. If more guns are the answer, then let them tote two of them, one on each hip. Maybe wait until 2nd grade though. Multiplication, lock-n-load, geography. Create gun pockets in their backpacks.

You do know that military bases are one of the places that are the strictest against weapons being held by all except those MP's who are on duty right? Being armed on a military base is a HUGE no-no and will get you in deep crap. Due to Army Regulation 190-14 no-one except on-duty security personnel are allowed to carry ANY weapons while on a military facility. That is one of the worst examples you could have used for trying to prove your point.
