Texas should be better.

And for some it is. For me it was a living nightmare to live there. Hated it with a burning passion after a very short time.

Sounds like me in the D.C. area.

Sounded good at the time, but realized about 3 months after my move that it just wasn't going to work out.

Headed back to MI after 7 months of hell.

Still love Michigan, but Arizona is my home now.

Change isn't always an improvement. Sometimes we have to try new things just to learn.

If I could find a job that pays 25% less and is in a relatively warm climate, I would move in a heartbeat. Never been outside of Detroit for longer than 3 months... I'm really ready for a change. My friend calls me a "Woetown" cat for life.

I would hate to come back to Michigan to live because the high cost of living. Like high property taxes and high auto insurance and utilities. I know lots of people from Michigan moving to the south to get away high property taxes.

Yes I would love to leave here. I do not like the prolonged cold weather and gray skies.

Trust me, you wouldn't want to do that.

You'll find that the COL is pretty much the same EVERYWHERE except say...NYC or SF. Prob'ly could say the whole state of CA......

Set your sights on a 25% INCREASE in pay to move.

And move someplace where you can sell your skills.

So how do they pay for public education in Southern states?
