Hi everyone

I will be traveling with my husband and teenage sons to Miami (for a cruise) in a few weeks and have a day to do some things around Miami. My son wants to visit the skatepark in Doral, but my husband is concerned because we don't know the area at all (coming from up North, where it's now a blustery 14 degrees btw).

We will be traveling to and from the Port of Miami via taxi to get there, if that helps.

Looking for any insight to the area and to see if the skatepark is in a good area for kids. We won't be leaving him there, we'll be staying with him, but still wondering what kind of area it is.

Thanks!

Leigh

The area is fine, very commercial. The port area is actually the one that is not very nice.

doral is a great area low crime, but lots of traffic, never seen the skate park so cant say much of it, but doral is about 25-30 minutes from the port of miami.

The Doral area is great. My son goes to MIA every weekend and he loves it. There is also two malls that are very close. One is Dolphin Mall and the other is International Mall. Dolphin Mall is a mall with many tourist, theres music(Spanish), a TGI, Johnny Rockets and a movie theatres.

The Skate park is ammazing and definatly you dont have too worry about crime safest area in miami in my opinio. One thing for sure is dont let your son be too cocky in the skatepark or he might get his ass beat

Hey everyone.

Thanks again. We made it to MIA skatepark and my son had a good time. Funny thing is that the 2 cab drivers that we had (there and back) didn't know where it was. Knew the address but didn't know where the skatepark was.

I walked around a little and went to the local Wal-Mart and killed some time. My son is very quiet, so wouldn't have to worry about him causing a ruckus and being cocky.

Thanks again, I appreciate it. My little visit in Miami might help me get through the 12 degrees I'm experiencing right now. Brrrr
