Is a 1 bedroom apartment in the above locations with washer/dryer for under $1k too much to ask?

Any recommendations (excluding the washer/dryer requirement) in these areas?

Doral - along 79th ave from 58 st to 41st street rents for 1 br should be right around $900 - $1,100
may or may not have washer/dryers. *Doral Gardens (gated w/24 hr security) some units have washer/dryer but there are brand new washers/dryers in each building, *Doral Gardens II, *Las Vistas these are all privately owned condos most are rentals.

Might find better deals in Kendall or SW areas.

Thanks Rose. The washer and drier is not that important to have in my apartment. Just a thing I have gotten used to after the years where I live.

You mention Kendall and the SW. Do you not recommend Miami Gardens/Miami Springs or even Hialeah as potential neighborhoods? Just curious since they are much closer. I speak spanish so being in the "cubaneo" (cuban folks) would not be that much of an issue for me. I mainly want a quiet, clean, safe place to live and not far from Medley. I'd be curious on your feedback.

I know of a place in Hialeah where a 2/1 with 2 parking spaces is $950. Not far at all from Medley except of course you have to deal with the notorious traffic.

Couldn't tell you anything about Medley looks pretty run-down to me, I wouldn't live there - Miami Springs Looks nice - around the park & school area. Don't know about their apartments. I don't think Hialeah is a safe location - just watch the evening news ... robberies, drugs, shootings ... maybe some parts of Hialeah are safe. Most houses have bars on the windows & doors (must be for a reason). Check out the areas and see how much police presence there is in the areas you're considering. Take precautions i.e. don't leave your valuables in plain sight etc.
