I am considering about moving to Miami for a job promotion. I have looked into the Brickell area and like it alot, but I cannot decide whether I should live on Brickell Key or near Brickell Avenue (in a Building like Brickell 500, Brickell Infinity, or Brickell on the River). I prefer Brickell Key more because it is quieter and more residential like Aventura. On Brickell Key I am looking into buildings like the Tequesta Point (1,2), Carbonell, and the Courts condos. Do these buildings on Brickell Key have a decent amount of young professionals or is it better to live in a building like the Plaza on Brickell to find young professionals?

Depends on what you like

You don't mind living in a place that is half empty with buildings that will remind you of a horror flick such as 28 days later or "the pulse" at night then by all means Brickell avenue. You will be closer to
mass transit and what not. Brickell key I think MAY have more people there (don't quote me on that) but you are further away from what will one day be the hot spot.

Take it from me - you wont get much sleep in the Plaza. That was one of the few buildings that sold out completely. It is also a known party building. It seems like an ultra high density building and did not appeal to me as much as others.

500 Brickell would make a great set for "Fear and Loathing in Miami"...all the coloful walls and multi-colored carpet. You get a sensory overload just by entering the front hall... It also has 2 whole floors of amenities, including a gym, 1-screen theater, 2-3 sports lounges, a banquet hall, 1 large pool in the 10th floor, and a rooftop pool open to all who live there. The funny thing is that the penthouse condo can look out onto the semi-private, top floor pool and see whatever's going on out there...

You could also look into the Tall Condo's on Miami Avenue right Across from the Marina in Coconut Grove. Really Kool Urban area with a Residential feel to it as well.

I live in the Yacht Club on the bay, with a view of Key Biscayne and Brickell Key. I do not pay an ungodly rent, but I get a gorgeous view of the water, a beautiful bay breeze all year round, a place where I am comfortable walking my dogs at all hours of the night, restaurants in walking distance, and neighbors I am happy to see daily. Moving there was the best move I have ever made. I am grateful every day for my decision to live there.

Brickell Key is nothing like Aventura.

Aventura can actually be more walkable than Brickell Key if you live close to US1/Biscayne Blvd. You can actually walk to a real supermarket, book stores, Sports Authority, Marshalls, the bank...even the dentist, instead of just boutiques and overpriced restaurants and bars. And no need to cross US1 Of course, you probably have to drive to work.
