Thanks for the heads up about Brickell being dead after work. In a city like Miami, I think we might like that. We are people who work hard all day, and then like to sit in a pool or just hang out until the next grueling day. Then on the weekends, I imagine we'll be at the beach.

See you on the forums.
Brickell is not completely dead after dark, it doesnt have the pedestrian traffic like the beach or New York but the new stuff opening in Brickell in bringing lots of nocturnal life to the place, I spend lots of time and theres always people, and with time it will only get better.

That's interesting to read your point of view, TannerMan. Perhaps he meant that it's not all crazy like South Beach. We'll figure it out I'm sure.

There's the new Mary Brickell village that opened up recently. It's supposed to be like Cocowalk. That might bring some life to the area if it takes off.

Brickell is definitely not dead after hours. It may not be like South Beach after hours, but it is definitely as busy as Coconut Grove. Walk around in Brickell at 2am on the weekends and you still see tons of people in restaurants, bars, etc. Brickell does not die, it is constantly alive and is only getting better.

Born and raised in Miami and just moved to Charlotte NC within the past week. LOVE IT!!! I would never go back down to Miami for any reason other than to visit family and friends still stuck down there.

CTR-the show is Oprahs big give. I was absolutely humiliated to be living in Miami and it was broadcast on a show nationally that people didn't thank her for the free gas but the others didn't even speak English when the other contestant was buying the flowers..Pathetic!!

Yeah that was kind of saying something...individuals seemed to be appreciative but when they were out "giving" in public you saw how...uhh...rude people were. Actually, when they went into the depressed black-dominated areas the locals were very friendly and appreciative on the show. But in general it looked really bad for Miami...

Well, it's been what, a week? It will take at least a year to be able to really tell. I don't think the posters are necessarily singling you out in particular because it's kind of becoming a "movement" in itself and a lot of people don't quite get it, myself included. Heck I was even lucky enough to have my car burglarized in Charlotte lol but (I have gone through this several times) I blame the burglar not the city.
