yeah June is always a rainy month. Early May was wonderful actually and even February didn't get that cold like years past.

If you are East of US-1 or on the Beach, its been pretty awesome compared to other parts of the country and even Florida.

Question on the weather, as this is only my 2nd year here in Miami (Brickell, specifically). Following are my observations:

Last year (2017) seemed as though there was less rain year-to-date, with higher temperatures but more breezes and less humidity.

2018--seemed like a cooler than normal winter (with a few periods that were exceptions) but as we got into spring we have seen more rain, less breezes, lower temperatures (think we have touched 90 only once or twice) but higher humidity levels and more mosquitoes.

My question is, would 2017 OR 2018 be more indicative of a typical Miami weather year or is it common to vary from year to year....not complaining, mind you, just inquiring to see which year might be more normal/traditional (or, if none of the above).

elchevere que chevre .....

Been here in the Hammocks Area since 1988 ... I say the pattern for this year is more like normal years, it's just that we did get a break on the Heat so far this year and last too, normally in March, and this was always my weather barometer, The Key Biscayne Tennis Tourney in late March every year, until this year, they're moving it away. My first years in Miami, the late 80, early 90's I went to day sessions as well as nites all the way to the end with really no high temps, then came the HEAT earlier in the year until 2 yrs ago where after 15, 16 yrs we got the better breaks

I stopped going to all day Matches, as in March the heat and Sun were brutal...Several years of that pattern that seem now to have gone back to part of my first years here..

Hopefully 2017 and 2018 are the indication that our summers may be shorter again...Rainy always, but back 15 yrs ago it was not uncommon to start getting a break in the HIGH Heat by late September for sure no later than Mid October.

Cross our fingers for the shorter and hot summers to be dwindling down for the next 15 yrs, only time will tell

Colder than usual winters aren't good for Miami. Prevents the area living up to its tropical status.

My sister said it was beautiful up there (Connecticut). Hot at 98 degrees, but dry, which is unusual. She's enjoying swimming and kayaking.
