Is it common to see people jogging in your neighborhood in the early hours of the morning?

Here where I live it is very common to see a group of people (mostly women) running laps around the neighborhoods, but what's rarely seen is people riding bicycles in groups. In Brickell it is common to see both bicyclist and joggers.

I chose yes because you do see some, but the truth is Miami is definitely not a runner friendly city, too much traffic, nowhere near enough parks and way too much heat most of the year. What confirms that to me is that I ran the Disney marathon in January and for Miami to only be 4 hours away it should have a lot more people running it from Miami, but if you go to the rundisney website and see all the finisher results you'll see a lot of other areas in Florida, you'll see a lot of Texas and New York but just not enough from Miami Dade county.Even the ING Miami marathon isn't as big as it should be in my opinion and many of those running it are not even locals.Where I live by Country Walk is pretty runner friendly for Miami, the more you go east and north towards the city the less friendly it gets, from now until October the weather won't help, mostly gym treadmill work for me.

You mean like 7:00 AM, right? Technically, "early hours of the morning" means like 2:00 AM, i.e. late at night.

I've seen elderly folks jogging in and around the Dadeland Mall during the morning a few times, also on a park on the east end of the neighborhood, on the border with South Miami - there's people jogging 'round there sometimes...besides that, mostly uncommon in this neck of the woods...most times there is just people walking around the Dadeland area itself.

The Venetian Causeway is like a track in the early evenings. I make the 5 mile loop each day. I suppose it's the same in the morning but I am never out there then.

Well, when it comes to running, 5-6 am is fair game for morning running. There isn't much traffic around that time (Miami is a relatively late commute city), especially in the local neighborhood roads, so preferably you run on the road, on the left side facing traffic. Otherwise, sidewalk concrete will tear up your knees. People who run mostly on the sidewalk either aren't running a whole lot of miles, or they're about to get injured. In my case, I live close to a pretty good off road trail that people use, it's not uncommon to see people running on the bike lanes across the causeway to. I wish there were more off-road trails and greenways (especially in the north and west parts of the city), but all-in-all, I think Miami is a decent city for running, especially if you're a morning runner. At any rate, it's more runner-friendly than it is cycling-friendly.

At early morning hours folks from my area either run at tropical park or and the lap at baptist hospital in Kendall. I have done both.
