Over the years, I've probably crossed the Border no less than 70 times, have always joined the long line of walkers, never took the Mexicoach bus to the Border, but yesterday I did, first time, to see if it was quicker! It wasn't!!!

You pay Mexicoach $4 to take you from Revolution to the Border, and there you wait behind other vans/buses unloading passengers to go thru Customs. There were 5 others in this Mexicocoach van with me.

As we sat there, we began to notice people walking ahead, alongside the buses/vans, and handing various individuals $5 to escort them to the front of the line. So this is what we figured out: you pay the $5 and that puts you in a van/bus closer to Customs to get you thru quicker, meanwhile, you sit in your van/bus waiting, waiting for the line to move forward.

After sitting there for over an hour, having become knowledgeable of this scam, I bailed out and joined the walker line.

Now get this!!! When I finally got to Customs, there were the other passengers in the Mexicoach van I was in, finally! getting thru Customs at the same time!

The big question: who are these individuals pocketing the $5? I noticed one contingent of 20 Asian tourists being escorted to the front of the line, now that's $100 in that individual's pocket, and bear in mind, the minimum wage in Mexico is barely $5 a day!

Never, ever will I ever take a van/bus to the Border again!
