I'm worried that I have a cyber addiction. I'm on the computer all day long. I spend all day checking my threads on City-Data. Most of my friends are virtual and I haven't been out of the house in two days.

Granted, I am depressed right now. But I start to worry when I can't get off the internet. I also read and research subjects compulsively. It's like I cannot turn my brain off. It goes on and on and on until 3am sometimes.

I wish I could stop and get a life, but I'm really struggling.

Does anyone else have a problem? How did you get help?

Thanks,

Woof x3

Yep, it's possible to have a cyber addiction. I set an alarm clock and give myself an hour, then it's off to work I go (I work at home) or off to the gym. Then again, on the weekend, I might spend way too much time on the 'net...

You have good discipline!

An addiction is lack of discipline, so you are not addicted!

Oh yes......I'm right there with you Woof Woof....I spend a ridiculous amount of time on City Data...then it's off to CNN, local news station, e-mail....E-Bay....then I check the lcoal funeral home web-site (how weird is that!)...then I start all over again.
On that note...I'm getting up now and doing some laundry and cooking for tomorrow's dinner!!!!

I have had that problem off and on and I notice that I tend to be more attached to the computer when things in my life aren't exactly going right and I'm depressed. It's a vicious cycle.

Checking the funeral home website, I never thought of doing that. Thanks for that tip!

I am medically retired, single and the kids are out of the house. I guess I could be watching tv instead of being online. Before I had inet I used to read a lot but I am reading here, right?

Right now I am getting sucked into the Twilight phenomena and foaming at the mouth at the sight of a 20something, much younger than me, overnight hunk named Rob Pattinson..the tween in me screams at the virtual sight of that boy

this is when I know I need a clubbing in the head to reset my brain....but not right now...not yet..*grin*
