Hi All:

I would like to know if I don't pay for the property damage which I have dispute with my landlord ruin my credit.

My landlord sent me the bill without any explaination. I really want to drag them to the court but I just don't have the time. Please let me know.

Thank you

If you damaged my property I would get a judgement against you. If you failed to satisfy the judgement within 30 days I would send the judgement to a collection agency immediately. I would then make sure that your credit was fully damaged as a result. Then I would renew the judgement every 7 years to keep it on your credit report. I would do this forever until you paid me every penny you owe me, plus interest, plus court costs, plus mileage and incidental expenses.

It would soon be very clear to you that you have a simple decision to make - pay what you owe, or run/hide for the rest of your life. I would never, under any circumstances, drop the issue until the matter was resolved to my satisfaction.

If a civil judgment gets decided against you it may show up on your cr.
If you're in the right, fight it, if you're not negotiate a settlement with the LL
that includes the stipulation in writing that no further action will proceed.

Don't have the time? If I felt I wasn't responsible for damages I would make the time.

Are the damages coming out of a security deposit, or are they in excess of your security desposit, or did you not have to pay a security deposit?

If you are in Boston there is a housing court. You can hop on there website and get some basic questions asked. As the others have stated, if the LL takes this to court, and if you lose and do not pay, it will go on your credit as a judgment.
