hi all!

i'm new to living in massachusetts. i went to school here, and decided that it's home. i loved it.

i'm now currently looking for a suburb in the boston area. reading, woburn, winchester are nice, but i've had my eye on wilmington. it seems quaint.

what would you suggest about the town? or would the other towns i've mentioned be better?

thank you and any advice is much appreciated!

I say go to Billerica over Wilmington.
People are nicer, town is nicer in general.

Billerica and Wilmington are more cheesy than quaint, but IMHO there's only so much "quaint" that a person can stand. "Quaint" usually translates into "overpriced," anyway! Winchester falls squarely into that category. You feel like you're getting "profiled" for income level when you go there, lol. The chances of lucking out with friendly and neighborly neighbors are better in Wilmington, Billerica, Reading, and Woburn. Add to that "shopping cart" Tewksbury, Malden, Burlington, North Reading, and Melrose in the same general area. Snobby for little or no good reason are Andover, Wakefield, Lexington, and North Andover in addition to Winchester.

Crucial criteria lacking so far: Need for good public schools; Transportation requirements; Price range limitations for home buying. Thanks for providing.
