Who knows but spring and summer are usually the best time to sell.

Original post said 3 bed 2 bath, there are a few houses with that around 600k.

Those ranches are both on fairy large lots so you could add an en-suite bath to the master bedroom on the gable end of the house without much difficulty.

600K for a ranch that probably sold for about 16K when it was built 60 years ago, and probably 300K 10-15 years ago.

There are better deals a little bit further.

And there are decent condos for that price too.

My opinion, probably shared by most, Chelmsford is a nicer town than Tewksbury or Billerica. I get there’s been a lot of demand in Billerica due to proximity to Burlington/95, but Chelmsford is nicer.

I’d say, if you’re friend is working in Chelmsford, wait for the right house and jump on it.

I guess the differences don’t mean much to those who grew up out of Massachusetts, and they are all changing.
However, each town has relatively undesirable neighborhoods, so it’s important to take a look.

That's not an opinion at all Chelmy is a nice town! Tewks and Billerica are not! Simple as that! I'm out of this State,,, checked homes in all 3 (obviously not every single neighborhood in each town),,, but it was very obvious during my drive. I found Billerica very boring and with no soul.

Billerica is not literally a "town". There is no well-defined town center with walkable business streets. Tewksbury is more or less the same
Chelmsford has a nice center and I went to the barber's shop there a few times.

That being said, for those who drive back and forth for work every day, a town center is not a big plus unless you live in it. I'd rather go to an isolated restaurant or bar without worrying about parallel parking.

Some crucial data:

Tewksbury Billerica Chelmsford
Median household income:
$111,696 $121,936 $123,630

Median value of owner-occupied housing units (2017-2021)
$445,600 $441,800 $443,500

Foreign born persons
8.7% 14.4% 11.3%

Public high school ranking (greatschools.org)
4/10 7/10 8/10

Oh, if that matters, Tewksbury and Billerica voted for Trump (2016 but not 2020). However Lynnfield etc. voted for Trump too.

I do. If you parallel park you're at a greater risk of some yahoo who may try to park in front of or behind you that just can't quite make the maneuver and scrapes your car. Also, more prone to being sideswiped by cars driving by. The way some people drive and have no regard for property...yeah it's a consideration. I'd rather park in a lot vs having to parallel park on a busy street!
