The cape had more vaccine shipped as a percentage of their population than Middlesex County as of yesterday. As rough as the vaccine roll out has been there's been a lot of outrage journalism lately. Check the weekly Ma vaccine reports, or the Bloomberg tracker which showed us as 16th/50 for first doses administered and 27th for fully vaccinated. If we skipped healthcare, prisoners and first responders we'd probably be in a better position in terms of raw numbers but the state decided it had different priorities than a free for all.

Of course it could be better, but it is also getting much better.

Says there's a bunch of slots available at Gillette. Nobody wants to drive that far?

Hot off the presses at JAMA-Network: "Reports of Anaphylaxis After Receipt of mRNA COVID-19 Vaccines in the US—December 14, 2020-January 18, 2021"

Over the vaccination period from Dec 14, 2020 to Jan 18, 2021, anaphylaxis occurred at a rate of 4.7 cases/million for recipients of the Pfizer/BioNtech vaccine, and 2.5 cases/million for the Moderna vaccine. Hopefully this data will help to assuage the fears of those worried about the side-effects of the Covid-19 vaccines.

See, this is my point exactly. Why not make these slots available through a clearinghouse mechanism?

They don't mind driving "that far" for a football game, do they?

I almost wonder if some of these slots are not going to get filled because of the 75+ requirement.

They aren't all 75 plus. There are essential employees as well.

I am also on some other social media sites. Just saw a Newburyport resident describing their experience getting vaccinated at the Danvers mass vaccination site on Friday after making an appointment. Said she was vaccinated by the National Guard, and the whole thing took about 20 minutes from their arriving to departure. She's already got her appointment for the booster shot in another 3 weeks. "So easy!" was her summary. Sounds like experiences vary widely!
