Which towns do you know of that offer elementary/middle school German language immersion programs?

The job will be in Cambridge.

I think your only choice would be the German International School in Boston, which is a private school. There is a German Saturday school program if you're interested. It's hard to check a negative assertion, of course, but I don't think any towns offer public German immersion programs.

Thanks. The idea came from finding out that there is a French immersion program in a Holliston public school. I thought that there might be other schools out there like there. If French, why not German. I will simply look for Middle schools that offer German as a language choice. There must be a few out there?

Surprisingly, it seems to be easier to find French programs than German ones. I would suggest contacting Goethe institute Boston they might have more resources

Boston - Welcome to the Goethe-Institut Boston*-*Goethe-Institut*

there's also german club in Walpole
Boylston Schul-Verein > Home

I never checked them out in person, and don't know of school programs that they offer (if any), but again, they might have more resources, maybe the list of middle schools that offer German language.

I don't think it's surprising at all. French is a much more popular language worldwide and we're closer to a Francophone country (Canada). If you're looking for all things German the German American Club in Walpole is a good place to start. They hold events through the year. There's also a reasonably authentic German store in Walpole (Eurogild) off Rt. 1.
