Kind of wearing out Craigslist, Boston.com and Wicked Local looking for rentals for SFH, condos or 2 Family. Any other suggestions on where to look? Trying to find a place to move into the beginning of November. Yes, it's really happening but could use a wider source to choose from. Thanks guys.

Boston Apartments - Apartment Classifieds By Town - Boston Realty

Has listings by town- at least you get an idea of going rates and maybe can get in touch with a realtor.....networking.

Also check out vacation rentals- some owners may be swayed to rent to you for a year??

Thanks NY'er. Found several places, all with agents attached that practically hung up on me when I mentioned my dogs. I have one agent pounding the pavement for me that is determined to get a place for us. Now I know that private party is the only way to go when it comes to pets of any kind.

No disrespect intended Puffle and NC but be very careful with any online monetary business with private leads.

I'm not selling ajything. We're renting now because we sold our house and want to move down south. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen anytime soon. In the meantime, we really, really don't like the rental situation we're in. I want to stay in this town for the schools but we're all ok if we have to move to the next town over since the schools are great there too and my kids know so many people there. I'm going to take a look at a place tomorrow but I'm sure it's going to be too small--it's the 3 bed 1 ba but it's on a lot of land in a great town. If we want back in the monopoly game the guy is willing to do a lease option or carry back the mortgage which would work well for us but we'd be awfully squished while my husband added a 4th bedroom and 2nd bathroom. So I thought I'd ask puffle what her budget was because if this isn't going to work out for us, I could pass it along to her.

NC, you don't have to explain anything. I'd like to hear more if you would like to PM me, especially about the landlord situation which doesn't sound good.

We went to see it today. It's way too small for us though my husband is actually toying around with the lease option/mortgage carryback idea. We'd just have to figure out where we live while we add on the space we need. The owner actually lives down the street in a larger house and threw out the idea of swapping houses. It is on a nice amount of land but at the intersection of two fairly busy streets. That's not really an issue with older kids as well as the house sits so far back from the road. Close enough to my husband's work that he could ride his bike.

Let me mull over this some more. I told him that I knew someone relocating from CA who might be interested. I'll PM you.
