I will be moving back to my home state Mass in Aug or Sept. I grew up on north shore. I am single..done raising children,.want to start my life in a fun, walkable, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, coastal community in Mass. I would like an affordable safe town. I think I will be ok job wise. I already have a real estate license in Mass. have yrs of experience with marketing and referrals to seniors for independant or assisted living...

any suggestions would help...my son is living in RI so I don't want to be close enough but do not want to live in RI.

Any suggestions on towns and best areas for my type of work would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Based strictly on hearsay, and passing through briefly a few times, I think Scituate might be worth a look. If north of Boston is not too far from RI for you to consider, I'd say maybe you should check out Beverly. Also Newburyport if you can go farther north of Boston than the inner suburbs, and maybe Rockport, though I'm thinking I may vaguely recall reading somewhere that R'port is a dry town, which you'd want to find out for sure since bars are among the amenities you say you'd like to have available.

Default Fun town, affordable, ocean, south shore, bristol county or cape cod

Single early 50s .son moving to RI. I want MA. I am from north shore but now considering a change to south shore..not too far from RI..most important to me is walkable town, shops, bars, ocean, safe affordable..

I will be moving end of Aug or early Sept. As for work..I have a Mass RE License already...will keep that on back burner til it picks up unless I can sell in a 55 plus community. My other yrs of experience are with the seniors. I currently do sales and marketing for independant and assisted lviing communities. So i would like a town that is near..new communities for elders or 55 plus ..or in need of services in those areas.

I would like the most afforadable yet safe. I grew up on north shore but want a change..

Any suggestions of any kind work and housing would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

^My first thoughts as well. About an hour from RI down Rte 44.

Any reason RI is totally out of the question? Bristol sounds exactly what you are looking for.

Come to think of it, if you have to be in MA you should consider Quincy as well. It is actually an easier drive to RI from there than from further down the S. Shore.

thank you so much..Bristol looks like a neat town..I think with Mass Health I may be more apt to live there. I am not sure of RI health insurance at all. I will have to check into that.

As for Quincy, I have not been through there in yrs ..in the past it never stuck me as a cool place to live but I have heard that from a couple of ppl now..so it must be an ideal place now.
