Central living location between Natick, MA and Hamden, CT - Sturbridge and others? (Woburn: apartment complexes)

My husband and I are planning to move to the border of Massachusetts and Connecticut. I will be commuting to Natick, MA. My husband will be commuting to Hamden, CT. We are looking to rent an apartment or home in Sturbridge, or perhaps another town.

Any suggestions for towns to live in and/or apartment complexes to look into? We are looking for a safe neighborhood with good highway access.

We know that the commute will be pretty long for each of us, but if you have any insights into commute times/routes, we would appreciate that as well.

Wow! My SO and I are in a similar boat, almost the same towns, too! I'd be interested to see what suggestions pop up.

The commute we have to Hamden won't last that much longer, as I'm starting a new job that has me traveling all over New England, so now rather than Sturbridge/Southbridge, we're looking near Marlborough or Woburn.

How funny, though!
