Looking at areas around Worcester or even on Ct. river area. Would like to find area with decent Polish population (not a common request).....without moving to say, Pennsylvania (never lived there)...I lived in Mass. 20 yrs and want to move back next yr, son may attend Emerson college in Boston.
I looked at Webster, but saw that it had poor ratings,,,crime?? not sure why, generally run down area?Like many on these boards, trying for find a place that feels "close to right"...after being in So. Cal.......I know that all places have pros and cons,,,,ya just have to add them up and then make a decision as to what you will compromise on and what you will not. $$$$ always being the issue,,,,
Thank you for any info

Wesber and Dudley both have HUGE Polish populations. I used to work in Webster and still keep in touch with some of my former colleagues, who were born in Poland. They have done a great job preserving the language as all their children can speak it, too. Ware and Palmer have large Polish populations, as well. St. Mary's High School in Worcester has a strong Polish tradition and the language is still taught there.

Chicopee stands out. Its a city over 50,000 and Poles are still the largest ethnic group.

A few weeks ago, I was in Monson and passed a building with a sign for a Polish-American club, but the building looked abandoned and unused.

If you look at where the Polish National Catholic Churches (PNCC) are located, that gives you a good idea. Most in MA are in the CT River Valley (Chicopee-Northampton/Hadley-S. Deerfield)

Default Nirva

Being Polish, Russian and, Austrian (They keep moving the borders) I'm happy to have settled in Adams, MA. With its Polish population at about 20+%, I find it easy to find Polish delicacies like pÄ…czki, pierogie, and homemade kielbasa at the local market!!!!!

There's a sizable Polish community in Boston itself in Dorchester.
