Hi, moving to Sudbury in the next few months. Can anyone tell me about the 4 elementary schools there? Questions: Why does Noyes have over 700 kids and Haynes only 450? Why does Noyes rank so low on MCAS and other school scoring sites and the other 3 are ranked so high? Thank you in advance!
Hopefully, someone who currently lives in Sudbury can weigh in. I grew up in Sudbury and went through the school system through elementary (Loring) to Lincoln-Sudbury. I don't know why the schools are districted the way they are, but if I had to guess, it would be that unless Haynes has had a significant update, Noyes is just a bigger school and more centrally located than Haynes. It used to be the middle school serving the whole town (when I was young eons ago...). Loring was rebuilt and is larger has a similar population to Noyes. Nixon which was always smaller is similar to Haynes.
I looked up the MCAS for Noyes and I didn't see where they were poor? Sudbury schools have always been ranked amongst the top schools in the state and there is a very high value placed on education. I don't think you will be disappointed with your choice.
