Hi, so I am currently looking for a modeling agent but I am not sure which one to go to. I am currently represented by Cameo but they seem to focus on acting (or that's what I have been led to believe). I'm not sure if it would be worthwhile getting another agent or if I should just stick with Cameo for I don't know if other agents hear about different modeling jobs that Cameo doesn't hear about. If anyone has worked with any of these agents, it would be nice if they could help me out by letting me know what it is like working with these other agents and if they are sent on modeling jobs frequently. I realize that Boston has a very minimal amount of work in modeling, and even less for young men.

Default Wondering what you decided to do...

I have the same situation right now and was wondering what you decided to do. Did you stay with Cameo or did you go to Dynasty or Model Club and if you switched, how is it going? If you did switch, was it easy to get out of the agreement with Cameo? Thanks!

Default "Dynasty" the epidemy of what a TRUE, GENUINE, HARDWORKING, & HONEST AGENCY SHOULD BE.

"Dynasty" is a rare gem in the world of modeling/acting for both children and adults alike. I myself have grown up in this business since I was 3 years old-up until I became pregnant with my first child at 23 years old. I have lived in Los Angeles, CA and in New York, NY with agents/managers of my own, but originally stem from Providence, RI. Being signed with agents/managers from the East and West Coast, I can tell you from experience........it is extremely difficult to find an agency that brings to the table, what "Dynasty" does. They are not only professional, but truly care about their clients and the client's family and you never have to worry about them draining your pocket. That is not what this agency is about. There are no fees to sign with them & if any agency wants to charge you a fee for signing with them........RUN! As with ANY agency out there in this industry, you need to invest in some pictures.....this is a must! Whether you have them taken from "Dynasty" or not......that is up to YOU! "Dynasty" NEVER forces you to have your pictures done from them. In fact, they give you that option to get your pictures done by whomever you choose, but I for 1......LOVE THE QUALITY OF THEIR WORK! I had my children's pictures done by them and so glad I did! Then you have to pay for the composite cards, but this is ANYWHERE you go. It doesn't matter what other agencies are out there, you will need to invest in these 2 very important assets! They are your most important tools in this industry, besides your agent and your training! To me.......it is SO IMPORTANT to have the best pictures that you possibly can........this is your advertisement to get your foot in the door to get you auditions/jobs! I am ALWAYS very proud to say that ALL 4 OF MY CHILDREN ARE SIGNED WITH "Dynasty!)
My son has been signed with them since 2005, and over the past 3 years have signed my 3 daughters with them, and would not have it any other way. Believe me when I tell you......"Dynasty" is UNTOUCHABLE when it comes to securing THE BEST AGENT out there as far as New England goes! HANDS DOWN!!!! I can't tell you how many agents I have worked with (from my own former career in this industry) that may have been professional and all, but could not offer a warm, family orientated atmosphere, and would rob you blind in a NY second! There are agencies out there that will make you empty promises.......this is what sets "Dynasty" apart from all the rest! It is so very rare to find an agency like them in this business! They are so much more than just an agent to my family..........they are an extension to our family! Over the past 8 years, my children and I have grown VERY FOND of the whole "Dynasty" team. When you sign with them......you are not just ANOTHER NUMBER TO THEM (most agencies out there look at you as just that).......YOU BECOME PART OF THE "DYNASTY" FAMILY TOO!!! They are the MOST CARING, COMPASSIONATE, LOYAL, WARM people that you could ask for in an agency, and let's not forget PROFESSIONAL! I would not waste my time typing this long review if I did not honestly mean every last word. I stand behind them 100%! I am a Mom of 4, and like so many of you, life can get very hectic for parents with children in this business.....between running a household, taking the kids to gymnastics classes, acting classes, dance classes, auditions/jobs, etc.... never mind having to worry about signing your child/children with a reputable, honest, professional, and genuinely caring agency.
As far as my kids securing jobs through "Dynasty"........my 10 year old booked assignments for "Hasbro" and also appeared in "Family Fun" magazine (used to be owned by Disney) and these were just over the past year. My oldest daughter (15) has just booked 2 assignments for print work, which took place during these past 5 months! When I had first signed my daughter (now 13), we were there for her photo shoot, and they already had an assignment for both my daughter and my son to work on a movie!
The thing is, in this business, especially here in New England.....we as parents, need to have a GREAT AMOUNT OF PATIENCE! The market in N.E. is SLOWWWW. So, with that said.....you will need to do your homework and read up on these reviews. I for one will never write a review this LONGGGG if I am just going to spew lies! Who better to inquire about an agency than someone who has known them for more than 5 years and has ALL OF HER CHILDREN SIGNED WITH THEM! If this review even helps 1 parent/actor/model out there, then..........mission accomplished! That is all that matters!
My family and I can ALWAYS depend on "Dynasty" for keeping us in mind for auditions/jobs! They ALWAYS keep in close contact with me (we keep in touch with each other) regarding upcoming auditions/jobs by either, phone/text/e-mail. I cannot stress enough how very important it is to sign with an agency that you can trust....an agency that is ALWAYS there for you and NEVER makes you feel like you are just another number/client. Please......do not be fooled by other agencies out there that will only mislead you! DO YOUR HOMEWORK! TAKE MY WORD FOR IT...........I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE WHO IS SERIOUS ABOUT GETTING INTO THIS BUSINESS AND SECURING THE VERY BEST AGENT IN NEW ENGLAND!

@reborn123: do you happen to have (be willing to share) a sample of Dynasty's contact? Specifically, I'm curious as to whether it has a particular term, does it auto renew, does it depend on the child actually booking jobs (can they drop a kid that isn't booking work), etc. I'd love to see an actual contact.

Reborn123 only made one post on this message born, and that was almost TWO years ago. And that makes me suspect that she is not a real client of theirs, but rather someone from their office.

Consider that every year, thousands of attractive looking people hope to become paid models... but there aren't enough modeling jobs for each and every one of them. Most wannabe models will never ever get modeling work.

And yes, you will have to pay for the requisite head shots. Most modeling agencies make a significant portion of their income from charging for these head shots. So they are more in the business of shooting head shots and creating portfolios than actually booking modeling jobs.
