Hello all,

I will be moving from Chicago to Maryland soon; and I'm looking for a safe place to stay in Odenton. I would prefer a diverse neighborhood that good for young professionals. My Budget will be around $1,500. Does anyone have any recommendations?

One of the last places I would think of for young professional would be Odenton. $1500 for rent? Odenton......

Hi Princeton,

Piney Orchard is a great neighborhood in Odenton that offers a variety of rentals properties. It is a great location for commuters, close to the MARC train, shopping and dining. I know a few places currently for rent. When are you moving?

Cheers,

Kathy

That place is a typical over priced contained community. I didn't see anything in Piney Orchard that is $1500 and under.
$1700+ ? That's ridiculous for that area. DC, DC, DC.........

Are you limited to just Odenton? Where will you be working or needing to visit (outside of home)?

You could always check out Columbia or Crofton MD.

Folks I know working at Meade typically live in Severn, Hanover (Arundel Mills area), Piney Orchard or Seven Oaks in Odenton. If it's me, I would probably choose North Laurel by Gorman Rd. - just has a certain charm to it, and close to Savage Mill and amenities on Route 1.

Thanks for the advice, guys. So, I've been noticing theres been a lot of flooding in Maryland. Is that something that hits the coastal cities, or does it happen in the center cities of Maryland as well?

There' has been a lot of rain all over the DMV, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and further south. We just had the wettest month on record in Baltimore. It's not common.
Live near a body of water, heavy rain can equal flooding.
