Article in the Post today about the lack of jellyfish in the water this year. I was unaware the Bay was lacking in salt this year.

I hope the jellyfish have not not yet arrived due to any issues with the health of the bay water, not that we wish they would hurry up and get here. Do any locals know if that is an issue?

The main reason the jellies aren't here is that the water isn't saline enough for them. The salinity is way down due to the snowfall along the Susquehanna and the overall wet Spring, although that causes other issues with oysters especially.

The fairly dry Summer has meant that bacteria counts are low (no runoff from lawns) so there haven't been many bacteria warnings this year.
