Well people, it is almost time to VOTE OUT the county exec Ike Legget and the whole county council in Montgomery County. You have been seeing your taxes and fees go up and your services go down. If you don't believe me, just search George Leventhals comments he made back in May when they ALL voted 3 tax increases and 2 fees. You are paying more now to have a cell phone in Montgomery County, your utilities bills are increasing because we are the ONLY jurisdiction paying a cap and trade tax, we now have to pay $400 if we need to take an ambulance to the hospital...which we are already paying for in our taxes...Also on the state level O'Malley has been skimming you with all of his buddies (well actually THUGS) in the house of Delegates and Senate. Also, did you people know that $4Billion, yeah thats right $4BILLION goes towards paying for the education, medical, dental free housing, meals, cable TV, etc of ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. Yes people, the operative word here is ILLEGAL. Nothing wrong with Immigration but there is a problem with ILLEGAL Immigration and those who aide and abette in criminal activity from O'Malley on down, Ike Legget on down. Check out the facts because Casa of MD is a front group for a socialist takeover READ THIS: How Gustavo Torres supports Hugo Chavez of venezuala and the ties to Mikulski, Van Hollen, Leventhal, Cardin etc...you can find all that info on google. www.themilitant.com/2007/7145/714503 (http://www.themilitant.com/2007/7145/714503 - broken link)

well, if they don't get voted out then I have a better idea. All of those who vote for these people who think we are ATM machines, you can have your taxes increased twofold and those who did not vote for them don't get our taxes increased. You want to share the wealth, well put your money where your mouth is or shut up

MD is a blue state; ergo, things will stay the same. It seems most of the residents like excessive government in their lives and won't vote against party lines.

I vote against party lines provided the candidate is the best choice available and since most of the Democrats in the state are Liberal Dems and Progressives, I will vote for a GOP candidate provided they're a moderate.

Also, please spare me that "excessive gov't" BS. The GOP likes to tell people who can and cannot get married and how a woman should handle her own body yet they advocate for small and limited gov't.

Lots of people are happy with the current status quo as well as history of government in the state of Maryland. Ever notice how stagnant our economy is? It has been for decades and PGC is an ugly reminder. It's as if all elected officials, as well as many citizens, believe the federal government to be the cure for all ails when the opposite should be true. All states have a responsibility to their citizens for too many of the services the federal government has taken away. Too many state administrations, boards and committees do nothing of real import as they, by law, must wait and depend upon the federal government for direction and funding. Most states have been neutered from acting alone on decisions such as schools. That is the progressive mindset - let an all powerful entity take care of us all for all of our needs. Why think, work or act upon our own; even if it is more efficient and for the better of the state? The 10th amendment is often looked over and/or ignored for the most part.

If we ever want to see this state compete with others above water citizens need to research candidates and vote responsibly rather than merely putting the same impotent people in for decades. If you can sit at your computer for hours doing other things you can surely take 15-20 mins to read up on some candidates. This is true for both state and federal levels.

This is supposed to be a blue state, not a bruised one, and is stagnant rather than progressive. A touch of red might kick start what isn't being accomplished in the state house in Annapolis. Some different points of view might be welcome in DC as well.

Isn't the crap going on in MoCo the reason why a large percentage of the wealthy moved out?

San Francisco is still holding up, and I suspect that too will be MoCo's niche. Be as progressive as you can and attract those who feel that high taxes and heavy social regulation are the most effective form of charity(because it's going to unbiased, not for profit, government).
