You will have to learn to drive in the snow. I would just get some snow tires to help with the learning curve.

I dis-agree.

Front-wheel drive is by far the best.

It is not just sufficient, which implies that something else is better.

Four-wheel-drive may be 'better' for mudding.

However on snow and/or ice, you need the front to pull you through the turns, to be pulling you in the direction that you are steering.

Rear-wheel drive simply can not do that.

Four-wheel-drive simply can not do that. So long as the rear wheels have traction and try to apply power, they will tempt the vehicle to fish-tail.
