Hello everyone,

I have found this forum to be very helpful indeed as we contemplate a move to Eastport. We have found input about properties from folks who know the area to be a real source of insight. We are giving consideration to homes on Washington (#104 and #106) and another on 41 County Rd. Do any of you have impressions of these homes? Thanks in advance!

If I'm not mistaken, 106 has foundation problems and 104 needs a lot of work. Both are on a busy street across from the IGA and one is at the corner of County Road and Washington St overlooking the bank. If you have the money to fix them up, I still don't think you'll see a return on your investment ever because of the location. Both have been on the market a good while. 41 County Road is also a fixer-upper. County road is a very busy road, being the only way in and out of Eastport. 18 wheelers are common most days headed for the dock. I think I'd look a little closer at some of the houses for sale on the side streets - there's a couple on Chapel, one on Clark, South, Key and several other streets. Good luck on finding your perfect home.

Last September my wife and I were in Eastport and walked every street and took pics of all the houses that were for sale. There are also several mobile homes we did not take pics of. The link is to an album with the pics, most have addresses and can be viewed full size by clicking the magnifing glass icon and moving your cursor over the image and clicking the icon in the lower right hand corner. The original size is 1600X1200 and shows fairly good detail.

Do you plan on a visit here to look at them? I have seen some folks buy via internet or phone calls. I've also seen thos same people spend 100 times more than a visit and be totally disappointed and angry. Please visit. I'm not trying to insult but I don't see anything about it in your post.

Tinbender.....Oh absolutely going to visit. I have been to Eastport here and there, but never with an eye to buying. We intend to take a look shortly. I would imagine that buying via the internet or phone would be a real "duh!" kind of thing to do.

Thank you for your sentiments. AND your input. I figured, just from the pictures that 104 needed LOTS of work. All of this is helpful. I have been to Eastport, but this sort of insider info is a huge help.
