How do you plan to support yourself and your three boys and pets?

I rented a 2bdrm apartment in Bradley [across the river from Old Town, very near to Orono] for $600/month and they allowed pets.

I think that in Bah Hahbah it would be higher.

I'm not sure this is a legitimate thread as it is so far off the wall!
Not a chance you will find a place in Bar Harbor for $800.00 a month. A four bedroom house in Bar Harbor off season would still be $3,000 a month ,if you could find such a place, on season $3,000 (or more) a week!
You may find a house to rent in a less expensive town as forest said though I'd double the $800.00 figure if you want a house with four bedrooms and a place for pets and it will be nowhere near the coast.

Best places to look for local rentals are the local newspapers (nearly all of which have websites) and craigslist.

Newspaper are still the first stop when looking for a rental, and even the smallest have websites, usually. But also, usually, you can't get to the want ads without a subscription for the online service. When we moved, I called the local paper and just got a brief subscription to get started. I've heard craigslist is good, too, though I haven't tried it.

Wellllll...it's pretty tough to find an apartment in Bar Harbor - you may be able to find one outside of the island 'tho. A decent rental will cost you more than you are looking for (as you can tell by some of the responses ) Typically (especially this time of year) there are many seasonal workers and even they have a hard time finding a place.

Here's one link: Apartments, Suites, and Condominiums Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce Maine

Here's another: Bar Harbor Home Rentals, Homes for Rent in Bar Harbor ME, Apartments, Houses for Rent, and Rental Homes in Bar Harbor, Maine (this one will give you listings beyond Bar Harbor.

Good luck.
