Hi All,

I am arriving in Brunswick tomorrow and will stay until Sunday AM. I will be on my motorcycle and would like to tour the coastal areas on Saturday. If you were me what areas would you have to see on this ride? Keeping in mind that bad traffic is a pain on the bike. I've heard Boothbay is nice but am open to all suggestions. Anywhere within one hundred miles would be great.

Thanks

if you're in Brunswick head out to Cook's Corner and follow the signs to Orr's and Bailey's Island. It isn't all that far from Brunswick and has some nice twisty roads and very nice scenery. You could make a side trip on the way to Orr's and Bailey's by going to Cundy's Harbor. You'll see the sign for the turn off on the left before you get to Orr's Island. On the end of the road in Cundy's Harbor is Holbrook's wharf. A nice little eatery right on the water surrounded by lobster boats and working fishermen. You can get a lobster roll or some other seafood and eat right there on the wharf (the haddock sandwich is very nice too!).They sell the usual soft drinks at the wharf though if you want a beer the store next door sells it and you are allowed to take it over to the wharf to enjoy with your meal. Follow the signs to Land's End on Bailey's Island or take a quick ride to Mackerel Cove for a close look at the pretty little the harbor.
Boothbay is nice too though traffic is heavier and parking is always a challenge there even for a motorcycle. There is a place if you bear to the right as you come into Boothbay where people allow you to park in their yard for a small fee . That's where we park our bike when we take a ride down that way. Boothbay is an easy town to walk around in.

I would drive up Rt1 to Damariscotta and head down Rt 130 to Pemaquid Pt then do a loop up Rt 32 to Waldoboro on Rt 1 and eat at Moody's Diner.

Yesterday I only made it to Fundy's and it was okay. Today I made it down to Bailey's and the only thing I can say is WOW. What a beautiful island. I was at the end for quite some time taking a lot of pictures. A little warm but a great day for pics. Thanks for the suggestion.

I've got to go to Rockland tomorrow so this route might be a good one to run on the way. What's the estimated time on this loop?

Thanks
