The wife, 3 cats and I are on the road to Maine. Left Kansas City yesterday around 3pm CDT. Got to St Louis around 6:30-7. Dropped cats off at daughters and visited until around 9 then headed to mother-in-laws where we'll be staying. Will be here a day or two then head out.

We tried not sedating the cats for this short 4 hour trip, all in all two seemed to handle it well, the third we probably should have sedated. We'll sedate them for the next round since we'll be on the road longer. Doctor/vet gave us some pills for them. Said give them half a tablet half an hour before we leave. Should help calm them for 5-6 hours. Have added to my Garmin GPS a POI that'll tell us when we're two miles from a hotel that allows pets, ain't technology great

The wife has to be back at work Mon the 4th so we wont be making alot of stops on the way. Only place I was thinking of stopping at is Niagra Falls. Been there 4 or 5 times but always a site to see every visit Only thing is I don't have a passport so we wont be able to visit the Canandian side which gives a better view than the American side.

Watch for next update lol

Have a nice trip and welcome to the State Park of Maine.

Flip flop: I have a nephew from California that lived in Maine for a few years and recently left for Kansas City. He is into the music scene and has an internet based music group where they have a few cd's. He just turned 40 and it set a fire under him to get living doing what he really wants to do. Guess his specific music is popular there and in europe. He was even asked for his autograph a few times in KC which I think motivated him even more. He loved Maine as it suited his frugal personality and independance. I'll miss him but thankfully you and your family will replace him with a renewed enthusiasm.

Thanks everyone !

We'll be leaving St Louis early Friday morning, hope to make it to Dayton, OH where we'll stay for the night, then head to maybe Niagara Falls, that's not definite yet tho. Hopefully we'll be in Boston by Sunday, then it's clean sailing from there
