It's a happy day. The days are getting shorter. My Cabela's fall catalog arrived today and this short spell between snowmobile seasons will soon be over.

I tolerate the heat of summer only because the plants need it. I have not yet noticed the days getting shorter, but I know by the end of the month I will... especially on Thursday evenings at the Bangor Downtown Market. That was where it first caught my attention last year, when it was not totally light as we tore down the booth.

The heat of the summer? I am in MDI now and the daytime temp today was about 75. REal heat I guess. At home, the temp today was 100, and tomorrow 99.

It was at one point, 91 where I am (inland Central and Eastern Maine).

The humidity was positively nauseating; however, it is fortunately short-lived.

Well, "fortunately" I guess until the end of February when I kinda (and only kinda) miss it...

I read 94 degrees driving by a bank yesterday- yep, too hot for my liking, but, overall the weather has been much better than last year- we may have a good tourism season, that will help many many businesses that depend on it

Forget the shotguns and camo for now. Go to an Appleseed shoot and improve your skills.
