I bought 2 jet ski's during the winter, bought them as is and being that it was winter I couldn't test them out. I really wanted a jet ski so I just took the chance and bought them. I got them registered and got them dry started in the garage. So last night it finally stopped raining for a bit and I decided I wanted to go drop one of the ski's in...after all I spent the money and I wanted to know if I got a deal or if I got screwed.

So I get the ski in the water and I was having some trouble getting it started. I stepped to one side of the ski so that I could take the seat off and mess with the motor. Now I've been on a jet ski before and know that they are sometimes a little tipsy...however I completely under estimated this ski! It rolled on it's side and BLOOP! in I went. Chest deep. Boy was that water cold!

Anyone else been in yet? haha

I was out in a kayak a few weeks ago collecting maple sap.

It did not occur to me how difficult it would be to collect sap while in a kayak, but it is.

I haven't dared to venture out in the kayak yet...I figured I was more apt to tip over in that then on the jetski...I may have been wrong though!

BRRRR.....no and I am in Connecticut. Our water down here doesn't warm up much faster than it does in your area. Where we live, the ocean is Long Island Sound. We can get to the "for real" ocean if we go to Rhode Island, but for the most part, it is Long Island Sound.

My husband and I also have an inground pool that is 20X40 and that takes forever to warm up. I only went in it one time when it was reeeeeaallllly cold and won't ever do that again. Froze EVERYTHING and I mean everything! It was not a good experience. The pool won't warm up on its own until mid-June so we normally use a solar cover for it.

Anyhow, great post, made me laugh..be careful on your Jet Ski and enjoy the summer!

Waded out to put the water intake in at the camp a few weeks ago. Just a week or two from ice out. It was quite cool.
