When we were a couple of kids.

Times have sure changed, but our girls settled into a new school year this morning as if they'd been here all their lives. They each walked into their classrooms where friends hugged them and called out, "Hi, Olivia!" "Hi, Victoria!" Teachers chimed, "Hello, Morris family!"

Wow, what a wonderful community to be a part of! And I only teared up once!! Just wait, though, until my baby boy goes to Pre-K next week. That will be an entirely different story!
This is a late note, but I'm happy the girls are being so welcomed.
It will be okay ~ we all have that time when the youngest goes off to school. I remember it was a happy and sad occasion.

Default We did it!!!

It's official we finally found that perfect place! I have to say it felt more like the town chose us than the other way around. We started our Maine property search about 3 years ago, and as so many others....we were looking on the coast, and lakes. But for some reason we kept being drawn back to the Bethel area. Despite numerous attempts to resist this area, we just kept being drawn back. And last month we were lucky enough to claim an old dairy farm house with a large barn and 50+ acres, rock walls, a pond, and only about 10 minutes from Bethel village. OMG it is beautiful. We've got some renovating to do, so we have to be patient. I could go on and on forever about this place, but more importantly I want to THANK ALL OF YOU for the wonderful advise and info tips that I have gotten on this forum. I don't keep up with everything as much as when i first signed on, but you all have been terrific with your stories, pictures, and yes...opinions. I'll keep you all updated when i can. thanks again......your the best!

Congratulations. My Mum was from Bethel, I have family still in the area. It's a nice place. I hope you'll be very happy and comfortable there.

Just in time for your first winter in Maine! We're newcomers, too--almost seven months, now. I know what you mean about being drawn back to the same place. We moved into a house we planned to buy. But it didn't work out, and we started looking. Hubby kept comparing every house we looked at one we had looked at before we moved up. None of the others met his standards and we finally bought it, JUST as the interest rates were starting to rise. It wasn't what we thought we wanted, but it's working out well.
