Thanks for your good wishes Phoebesmom abd Maine Writer!

I'm waiting for them to signed contract and for their good faith money deposit. In the meantime, we are still showing the house.

YEAH! My house is sold and I'm out of NY! It was a long and stressful five months from the first open house to moving day!

We are renting a house in Virginia near my daughter. Over this spring, we'll start looking for our Maine home!

Very glad for you, Yorktown. You are wise to rent, and it sounds nice to be in a mild climate for the winter.

FYI, Yorktown, NY was named after Yorktown, VA. I'm not far from Yorktown, VA now and it is considerable warmer than NY or Maine. Some days, it's as much as 20 degrees warmer than NY.

It was hard leaving a house after so many years. I made a dozen trips to charities and "Got Junk" came five times! I still moved too many things. Two-thirds of my boxes are in a VA storage unit. I have a dozen boxes in my rental house which should go into storage too.

The rental house has needed two plumber visits for bathroom drainage issues. Today, the water heater died. It was 16 years old and the rental company said it would be replaced before we moved in. Not loving this situation. However, it's temporary.
