Got the overwhelming impression from reading these forums, Lewiston, Maine was the worst place in Maine. However, looking up the topic, found the Website above that used a scientific method to determine a place called Skowhegan as the Worst place to live in Maine. Guess now it can be said Lewiston might not be a recommended place to move to in Maine but there are worse pits in Maine.
Skowhegan,Maine,The real pithole of pits in Maine, according to science.

Roadsnacks is entertaining and satirical at best. Old Town, really?

I read not long ago that Calais had the highest crime rate per capita of any town in Maine.

Yet somehow, Lewiston Maine is on Forbes' list of 25 best places to retire:

Lewiston is one of the best places to retire in the US, according to Forbes — Lewiston-Auburn — Bangor Daily News — BDN Maine

I'd pick Skowhegan Maine over Miami, Houston, Washington DC, Oakland CA or Stockton, California any day.

It is great that Americans can exercise their freedom to choose the place that works well for them.

Thread temporarily closed pending moderator consideration.

From the article: This article is an opinion based on facts and is meant as infotainment. Don’t freak out.

Furthermore, the FBI explicitly cautions against using its crime statistics to rank cities.

The web site appears to be more click bait than informational.
