My wife and I are thinking of me taking a job up in a more Cannabis friendly state and thus far Maine is at the top of our list. Does anyone know of a good real estate agent and or loan/coordinator that has experience with out of staters?

Pick an area, research demographics, geography, services, Google is your friend.

Texas? Seriously?
Probably what you should do is come here right now and see what winter is like before you do anything else.

Honestly we both hate Texas, not so much the politics per se... We are both libertarian in nature, we like our guns and ammo. We like the government leaving us alone and we hate the Texas climate with a passion. Yes Maine is probably the most extreme cold place we could live outside of Alaska but it appears much cheaper to live there than California, Colorado, Oregon and Washington.

I've been researching for a week now as far as Demographics, climate, geography. I'm more interested in finding a good loan originator and I figured maybe you residents would know someone.

What do you mean? We only got about 18" here since yesterday and maybe another 6" later today.

If you like your guns and ammo why would you want to move to a more cannabis friendly state? You do realize that cannabis use makes you a prohibited person in the eyes of the federal government.

There's a BIG difference between Kittery and St. Agatha (I'd a said Ft. Kent, but everyone does that). I'd nail down where I'd wanna be first, then find the loan originator (Bank, Mortgage Broker, etc.) locally. It's a good 7+ hour drive end-to-end in Maine. Working with locals can give you a leg up.

I will not be using cannabis, its for my wife. Also "in the eyes of the federal government" "cannabis use" is illegal.

Yes, cannabis use and possession is illegal in the eyes of the feds. You might want to consult a lawyer as it would be difficult to prove that cannabis on the premises is not in your possession or that firearms are not in your wife's possession.

I'm not too worried about that. I don't see the Feds raiding my house for a few pot plants so my wife can utilize THC and cbd for her pain and well being. I plan on getting anywhere from 50-200 acres and a house in distress that we can fix up. It will be pretty secluded but I will indeed speak with a lawyer and if he absolutely says we are screwed then we will decide at that time.
