This Saturday, the Springfield waffle extravaganza will open at 6AM to accommodate the Labor Day Weekend crowd. It will go until 10 AM as usual. It's right on Route 6, the Trans Maine Trail, near the four corners in Springfield.
Waffles, pancakes, eggs the way you like em, bacon, sausage, sausage gravy on biscuits, pankakes and waffles can have blueberries in them with strawberries and whipped cream. Home baked beans too. Orange juice, apple juice, tea and coffee. You can't beat it for five bucks.
Tomorrow is the day. With all the bird hunters out there it should be a good crowd for Waffles and all the fixins in Springfield. Then it's November 4 and 18. The first time I posted about this, the president of the snowmobile club looked around the room and said in amazement, "I don't know half the people in here."
Don't worry. They won't run out of waffles - or blueberries.
Had a great Maine breakfast of waffles, eggs, sausage and home baked beans this morning. Springfield has these breakfasts on the first and third Saturday each month, but this month they will be held on the first three Saturday or three weeks in a row. This is to accommodate Santa Claus who will be there for waffles and beans next week. I won't miss any of them.
It would take a while for me to adapt to eating beans for breakfast...lol.
Eggs, sausage, bacon, and beans for breakfast is the best. Baked beans are a ubiquitous breakfast food in the British Isles. When that yolk mixes with those beans... Adding waffles to the mix makes me wish I were in Maine for these breakfasts.
This Saturday, January 20, be in Springfield, Maine for the snowmobile club breakfast from 7 to 10 AM. They usually open just prior to 7. It isn't like they unlock the door at 7. It's a hearty breakfast. I go for the company and the waffles. The home baked beans can't be beat.
The first time I posted this, the club president. Looked around and said in amazement, "I don't know half the people in here." Five bucks folks. At some places it's five bucks for an orange juice, English muffin and coffee. This is a MEAL!
Ahhh, the Waffle Alert has been updated! All is good in the world. I am so going to one of these next trip ..lol.
