When I moved here, I was told that typically the last date of frost, when you could put in your garden is between Memorial Day and 1 June.

Though more often I have heard 1 June as the day to plant crops that are non-hardy.

The old wives tale is ' not to plant flowers until Mothers Day'....

4 to 9 inches on Saturday with 2 inches on Sunday. Anybody betting on a foot? It could be close.
Below zero?? Kill me now, please.

On Monday, I'll blow out a camp driveway near my home and then blow out my camp driveway. The snow will be dry and brittle. It will blow a long way into the woods and not clog the chute. Even those giant airport snowblowers can clog their chutes. When that happens, the best way to clear the chute is with live steam. To clear an ordinary snowblower on a tractor, I cut off an old shovel handle at a sharp angle and use it to chew away at the heavily compacted snow. I twist the handle and it works like a drill. Once there is a hole down through the plug you can chip away at the remaining snow. It is a chore best avoided or prevented. Keep those RPMs up.

When the snow depth gets down to about 2 feet and the road has not been plowed all winter you find branches in the snow. Small branches don't bother the snowblower at all. Big branches go Whack Bam! and you shear a pin. I was blowing out a camp driveway and noticed a lot of blue stuff flying out the chute with the snow. I stopped to check and discovered that the blower was chopping up and blowing Coors Light cans. I told the owners not to go barefoot along the driveway until they pick up the Coors fragments.

Mr.Weather himself- what is the forecast for Saturday and Sunday you are finding?
Its saying, on the weather channel, only an inch saturday and less than a inch sunday. However- we are hearing a ton of different reports.
What are you seeing? ( you have been spot on all winter so far... )

Too far south. Should be rain tomm and Saturday then change to snow Saturday night. Just snow showers Sunday. You might get 1-3" of snow to accumulate as the temps drop but this is a snowstorm for northern Maine.

Ha, thanks. I don't want to follow scripts and politics. Just do it as a hobby without needing marketing points.

BTW.. Wind chills easter morning single digits. Kids gotta bundle up finding eggs.
