It's Saturday Apr 4 and it is still snowing and the wind is blowing out of the northwest like in February. Anyone have any idea when winter in Maine is supposed to end?

Nuts! Not over yet.. Tonight a cold night. Tomorrow more light snow with blowing snow.. Then again Tuesday maybe. Everything should relax after this week.

Discussion from NWS.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CARIBOU ME
335 PM EDT SAT APR 4 2015

.SYNOPSIS...
INTENSIFYING LOW PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO MOVE EAST THROUGH THE
MARITIMES OVERNIGHT. HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD TOWARD THE REGION
LATER TONIGHT...FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER COLD FRONT ON SUNDAY. HIGH
PRESSURE FROM CENTRAL CANADA WILL PREVAIL ACROSS NORTHERN MAINE
INTO THE EARLY WEEK WHILE WEAK LOW PRESSURE SYSTEMS TRACK EASTWARD
ALONG A STALLED FRONT JUST SOUTH OF THE GULF OF MAINE.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH SUNDAY/...
SNOW IS RAPIDLY COMING TO AN END THIS AFTERNOON AS LOW PRESSURE
MOVES AWAY THROUGH THE MARITIMES. WE`LL SEE A BRIEF BREAK
OVERNIGHT AS HIGH PRESSURE CROSSES THE REGION. OVERNIGHT LOWS WILL
BE VERY COLD FOR EARLY APRIL...RANGING FROM THE SINGLE DIGITS IN
THE NORTH TO THE TEENS DOWNEAST.

FOR SUNDAY... A VERY WEAK CLIPPER SYSTEM WILL PUSH ACROSS NORTHERN
MAINE AND SOUTHERN QUEBEC, BRINGING THE CHANCE FOR SNOW SHOWERS.
THESE WILL BE LIGHT WITH ANY ACCUMULATION ONLY AN INCH OR TWO.
HOWEVER, WINDS WILL BE GUSTY ONCE AGAIN, SO BLOWING AND DRIFTING
SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE. HIGHS WILL RANGE FROM THE LOWER 20S IN THE
NORTH TO THE LOWER 30S DOWN EAST.

THE FORECAST AREA REMAINS DRY MON THRU TUESDAY UNDER CANADIAN HIGH
PRESSURE...OR IF CLOUDINESS FROM A STATIONARY POLAR-MODIFIED ARCTIC FRONT JUST OF THE GULF OF ME MEANDERS SLOWLY NORTHWESTERWARD INTO THE FORECAST AREA ESPECIALLY ON TUESDAY.

Furnace just kicked on. The temp is dropping....again. It is late afternoon/early evening and we are headed for yet another cold night here in frigid Maine where winter just goes on and on. Had snow squalls this afternoon. Snow predicted for next week. That jet stream has to lift and let the warm air masses come up from the south. It can happen any time now....... Come on Maine, you can't stay cold forever.

We saw the sun for a moment just before it set. It will be around zero by morning. That will be yet another record.
