It's a well-seasoned, stuffed lamb. Totally relevant to the Maine photo thread, as there's an underground cult of us Mainers who buy stuffed animals en masse from Goodwill or the local Sally - for our dogs. Our dogs carry these animals about, wedged firmly in their gaping maws, until they decide they need their maws for something else; the animal is thus deposited, and ages to a fine patina, such as the little lambie, whose photo 7th posted.

Or, maybe a kid jettisoned it.
