We hike most days. When Kelley was a pup she had a problem with her back legs-she had pain and wouldn't let you handle them and had an odd gait. The vet said she needed to lose weight ( she was to be a nursing home dog and people couldn't resist feeding her) and get lots of exercise. She started living at home with me and we started hiking ,which she loves, and we controlled her food intake. When my wife left us we dealt with that by doing even more hiking-enjoying the beauty of Maine- several hours most days. Kelley became quite strong, no longer has pain, or an odd gait and I lost about 20 lbs. She has done all of the peaks in Acadia, Camden, and a lot of other trails within a couple of hours of home. We do a lot on the carriage roads in winter because many of the trails, that we prefer, have deep snow or ice and are risky and not enjoyable. Some of the carriage roads get groomed for skiers or at least get snowshoer traffic so they are easier. Most of the park loop road is closed to cars in winter but snowmobiles are allowed and they create a nice packed surface. I will try to send you a link to my blog. Thanks for your interest.

Hey guys- hope you don't mind if I plop in a few highlights of my own from last Fall. I got my first digital camera and went nuts driving around for nature photos. My camera broke right around peak foliage, and I didn't cover as much area as I hoped, but I still got around to a few cool places ...
