2016 BUMP ! One artist not mentioned is Bob LaRoy Montgomery, best friends with Buddy Holly in school. They billed themselves as "Buddy and Bob" in the early days. We just discovered - through DNA - that Bob Montgomery was my biological father some sixty years ago. We have connected with surviving family and are now creating new extended family relations.

Bob Montgomery went on to become a very successful music producer in Nashville, established the House of Gold music company with Bobby Goldsboro, and eventually became VP of CBS/Sony Records. He produced Bobby's big hit, "Honey".

One of his biggest hits was "Misty Blue", performed by Dorothy Moore.

We are still searching for my birth mother. Sadly, Bob Montgomery passed in December of 2014 from Parkinson's. RIP, dad.

Hi Son of Bob.

Yes, I had mentioned Mr. Montgomery is post # 50 but glad to hear from you. I well remember the song Misty Blue as I'm sure many others do. So sorry to here about your dad's death.

I believe Bob also wrote this song sung by Patsy Cline:

Here's my list. If you wish to see the videos I had originally posted for each of these folks, please see the Music forum (Local Bands). Please limit responses to musicians. I know that the area has also produced other renown folks.

I am curious so please add or subtract from this initial list. Please limit names to musicians who have professional recordings and feel free to include a video.

11. Todd Mankin
12. Curtis Edmund
