Difficult to keep track of Lubbock area musicians these days but here's a band that has a good sound. Not sure where Joe originally came from:

I know that this is sort of off-topic (or is it?), and will cause rolling of eyes. However, the 420-member Goin’ Band from Raiderland sounded ridiculously good Saturday night at the Oregon game. They will perform at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in NYC, which to my knowledge doesn’t just accept any musical act out there (especially of that type). It has arguably been one of the most consistently good marching bands since Dean Killion took over 60+ years ago.

Josh Abbott can be considered a Lubbock artist, though he's not originally from the area. His band was formed while he was at Texas Tech.

They're due for a new album. Josh hadn't done any new material since 2020, but they're still performing.

An older local group, Cory Morrow, is performing at Raider Alley tomorrow.

Would guess that JAB will have a concert in the Hub City later this year. I attended the football game where Abbott performed at halftime in 2013; it was a Thursday night game vs. TCU. Guess who Tech plays on Thursday, Nov. 2 of this year. Not saying that it’ll happen, but it could make sense.
