I believe Mr Dyche hits the nail squarely on the head. What do you think?

Lightbulb good grief

It's a short enough article that people will read and it doesn't tell JCPS how to fix the problem. I just cannot believe that teachers that are not at Manual, Male, etc would, not be drooling to transfer into those schools. Would any high school math teacher rather teach at a school with 50% drop out rate?

The editorial was about Kentucky education as much as JCPS, and Holliday sounds like what KY neeeds. Has to be doing something right if he is getting flak from the right as well as the left.

Dayton, I do not believe there is on Kentuckian who faced with educating their children in a public school would disagree with you or the editorial. Now, how do we fix this matter. It is not racial, it is as ingrained from mistrust as any cause.

Prior to the US war between the states, Kentucky was the center of American learning. Unfortunately, the divisions that kept Kentucky as a Border State, are the very same divisions that destroyed its educational superiority.

We can't throw more money at the problem, the Lottery proved that. We must start with the attitudes of our young adults. Unwed child birth is destroying families, black, white, and red.

We must stop filling our jails and prisons. We must look at our entire society. Faith must become relevant again.

So, yes Dayton, you are correct, but Kentucky is no longer alone.

Because my Wife is an administrator in Oldham, I have a little knowledge on the subject . . .
My opinion is not relevant here, but I can state factually, JCPS pays more than Oldham, but you dont see Oldham teachers making the move to JCPS in the numbers you see them trying to get out of JCPS. Teachers in this area are scared of JCPS's assignment process. The harsh reality of the situation is, a lot of teachers are just scared of where they will end up. It does effect the system.
