Dear All,
We are planning to move to Louisiana from FL. I will be working in Baton rouge and my wife is planing to work in Lafayette. We are new to this area. Can you please guide us which area will be best so that both of us can travel some distance than giving long distnace to one. I was looking on google map and found Henderson location. Your help will be highly appreciated regarding the best area in between these two locations. Thanks heaps!!

I have several friends who live in Cecilia, Breaux Bridge and that area. Some commute to BTR to work. I can't tell you about housing over there though. It seems like a nice area, especially if you're wanting proximity to LAF and BTR.

Default Tough to find a good midway point. . .

. . .btwn Lafayette and Baton Rouge. Henederson can be beautiful, right on the Atchafalaya Basin, but may prove difficult to find rentals. (You didn't mention if you would be renting or buying or what your price range is.) Another thing you should know, while the commute is a straight shot on I-10 (in either direction), one small car accident can create an endless traffic snarl because of the lack of alternate routes. Breaux Bridge, though closer to Lafayette than BR, is an affordable option and really charming. Zydeco Breakfast at Cafe Des Amis is an experience! Take a look at craigslist and the local lafayette paper (The Daily Advertiser - www.theadvertiser.com - Lafayette, LA) to get an idea for rents. Hope this helps, and best of luck to you. You'll never live anywhere quite like Southwest Louisiana - it's a truly wonderful experience.
