This is a city of 4 million, with a metro size of 13 million.

I don't care what anybody says on here. California is a god damn suburb.

Ever been there? I mean, in downtown, on the street. Obviously not.

Can you **** off to some siberian ghetto back east already? Be sure to hype it up as "gritty" and "real."

Walk around on the streets of downtown LA and I doubt you'll be calling it a suburb anymore.

I guess most of the European cities are damn suburbs too since they don't have a bunch of skyscrapers. You're obviously trolling... which I thought was against the TOS (as well as not citing photos). Does the following photo look suburban to you?

A good portion of the mid-rise downtown area looks like this too... quite suburban.

Now you've got me yearning for a downtown dive bar.

This sort of mood, LOL!:

Los Angeles is a city of midrises. 4-10 story apartment complexes dominate much of the cityscape. To be honest, that isn't any different than London, Paris, Madrid, Berlin, and other European cities which are mainly midrise cities of 4-10 story buildings. Are London, Paris, and Berlin suburbs as well because they don't have many skyscrapers????

Skyscrapers are a superficial way of looking at a city.

Judging a city by its skyline is like judging a book by its cover

London's skyline is pretty weak too and is the hub of a 13 million person metro and 7.5 million person city:

Guess London is one big suburb.

and it's beautiful. The pictures remind me of being a kid visiting my dad's office downtown, before the Bonaventure Hotel was built (and they thought that was a skyscraper). Thanks for the photos...reminds me of how much I love L.A.

Now I know this fool did not just call an entire state a suburb

A skyline does not make or break a city.
