Hi all,

My husband and I are moving from Missouri to LA. He was recently accepted to Musicians Institute in West Hollywood. I have a potential job offering in El Segundo. If that jobs pans out for me what where would people recommend us living so either of our commutes don't overwhelm us....?

Also, if that job falls through what are some affordable areas that would be near his school that I can job hunt in?

Thanks for the help!

Ok so turn of events has occurred. It does not appear as though I will be working in El Segundo anymore; however my husband is still going to be in school in West Hollywood. Our budget (aka my salary of approximately $45K) doesn't seem like enough to live there or really even near there...........Does anyone have any advice for some good, safe location we can look to live???

I have no familiarity with LA. Could you please explain "the valley"?
